20 years of service
WHO WE ARE
Miriam Centre opened in Orléans on July 1, 1988
and offers assistance to mothers in need.
We are a bilingual, non-profit, charitable
organization that has grown from a desire shared by a group of concerned people
from within the community to reach out to anyone facing a difficult pregnancy.
Trained staff and volunteers share the will and
ability to offer pregnant mothers new hope and practical help.
Our primary goal is to minister love and
compassion to all mothers and also to those involved in their pregnancies.
Mothers, single or married, regardless of age or
situation, are welcomed to the Centre before and after the birth of their
child.
Miriam Centre offers assistance to mothers who
have already given birth and are having difficulty adjusting to their new lives.
Thus they are more confident of their future and that of their child.
The Centre provides a free pregnancy test and
makes its resources available to families. It helps provide for material needs
such as maternity wear and baby clothes.
Information on adoption, medical care, schooling,
financial help and lodging are also available.
We also reach out with love and compassion to
those suffering from the loss of a child through abortion, miscarriage or infant
death. We listen to all with respect and help them find peace and healing.
